We are honoured to have offerings from two of Melbournes most talented artists in our Northcote flagship store.

Hilary Green is a ceramic artist and painter based in Melbourne who has been exhibiting and practicing for over 10 years. She creates ceramic art pieces that are inspired by the sea, shell fragments found on the sand as well as the shapes and shadows of rocks. She studied Bachelor of Fine Art at RMIT with a focus on photography and drawing. In her work,  she explores organic forms and imperfection through her drawing practice and translates them into functional stoneware sculptures.

Hilary is especially interested in the tactility of clay and how she can create the sense of fluidity and movement, leaving imprints of the hand in its hardened state. Her sculptural forms manifest mystical ancient shapes mixed with modern colours, playful positions and textures, whilst remaining functional to represent timeless domesticity.

Drawing on her background in painting and sculpture, Amy employs wheel throwing, hand building, and hand-painting techniques to create unique ceramic pieces that function both as artworks and utilitarian objects. With an emphasis on longevity, all pieces are fired to stoneware temperatures and are made to last.

Amy works out of her studio on the Mornington Peninsula, outside of Melbourne, Australia.
